Quelle sera la meilleure danse folklorique de France ?

The great contest of the regions: Which will be the best folk dance of France?

The great contest of the regions is back! And for this new issue, we focus on one of the oldest traditions of our villages and regions of France: the folk dances!

Folk dances are the pride of our regions, which have been passed down from generation to generation since the beginning of time!
A mixture of celebration, sharing and of course tradition, they are the symbol of the “genius of the people”, preserve local identity and bring communities together, even in the most isolated villages.
For the first time, we have brought together 10 of the best amateur troupes from metropolitan France and overseas for an unprecedented competition, on the stage of the Royal Palace, in Kirrwiller, Alsace.

Coming from Brittany, Occitania, Grand-Est, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Normandy, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes but also from Tahiti and Martinique, 10 troupes proud of their region and their history will compete to try to lift the trophy of “the best folk dance in France”!
Get ready to travel to the rhythm of the performances of our 200 dancers, their inimitable styles and their costumes. Bourrée, ronde, gavotte, polka or even dance on stilts, each troupe will be eager to offer its best performance.

The rules :
A first performance by each troupe to dazzle the audience of the Royal Palace and convince our jury. Choreography, technique, precision, traditional costumes, nothing will be left to chance. After deliberation, Vincent Niclo, Caroline Margeridon, Laurent Luyat and Mareva Galanter will choose 7 finalists.
Then, after a second round, our jury will deliberate a second time to choose the winning group.
Our dancers are between 6 and 82 years old and have at heart to give everything to see their region triumph.
Who will win the trophy? Which one will be designated “best folk dance in France”?
