7 Jours 7 Nuits à la maternité

In a maternity ward, anything can happen at any time. That’s why they have been classified into 3 categories: level 1, 2 and 3. The higher the level, the more important the equipment is and the longer the mothers and their children can be taken care of. Lens, Montpellier, Antony, Martigues or Bry-sur-Marne: 5 level 2 and 3 maternity hospitals agreed to open their doors to us to follow the daily work, day and night, of 8 midwives.

7 days a week, 24 hours a day, day and night, midwives are at the service of mothers. It is always with the same energy that Hana at the maternity ward of the Hôpital Privé de Marne-la-Vallée attacks her night shifts. Shifts during which all midwives in France are more autonomous and responsible. Because at night, the teams are reduced and the midwives must ensure the service, alone. At the Martigues Hospital, it is a hectic night shift as two babies are about to be born at the same time: a rare case, both are born at exactly 5:04 am, under the benevolent responsibility of Sophie and her colleague Jennyfer.
